Pressure mats and stress sensors are examples of security devices intended to send a signal when triggered. These devices must comply with applicable standards, such as ANSI/UL 634, Standard for Connectors and Switches for Use with Burglar-Alarm Systems, or ANSI/UL 639, Standard for Safety for Intrusion-Detection Units.

5.3.4 Pressure-Sensitive Devices.

5.3.4.1 Pressure-sensitive devices shall be in compliance with applicable standards, such as ANSI/UL 634, Standard for Connectors and Switches for Use with Burglar-Alarm Systems, or ANSI/UL 639, Standard for Safety for Intrusion-Detection Units.

5.3.4.2 Pressure-sensitive devices shall include but not be limited to the following:

(1) Floor mats

(2) Stress sensors
