A glass break sensor is designed to detect breakage of any portion of a glass window or windows to which it is attached or adjusted to protect.
Glass break sensors must comply with applicable standards, such as ANSI/UL 639, Standard for Safety for Intrusion-Detection Units.
According to UL 639, Section 65.1.1, “A glass breakage detector shall detect breakage of any portion of a glass window or windows to which it is attached or adjusted to protect.”
