Amend NEC® 2017, page 52:
110.41 Inspections and Tests.
Deleted.
ELR commentary: This new 2017 code section is a general requirement for inspections and testing of electrical installations over 1000 volts. Its purpose is to align with similar requirements in 225.56 which only address outdoor branch circuits and feeders. In North Carolina, this entire section was deleted which would have required the complete electrical system design, including settings for protective, switching, and control circuits, to be prepared in advance and made available on request to the authority having jurisdiction and then tested when first installed on-site. In addition, this section also would have required a test report covering the results of the tests conducted in accordance with 110.41(A) to be available to the authority having jurisdiction prior to energization and made available to those authorized to install, operate, test, and maintain the system.
In North Carolina, this new 2017 code language has been deleted and is not enforced.
Special note:
Even though this language does not appear in the North Carolina version of Article 110, it is still enforceable from NEC® Section 225.56 for installations over 1000 volts that may deal with an outside branch circuit or feeder.
Which of the following is true regarding inspections and tests for a 12,470-volt switchgear installation in NC?
