Code Change Summary: The protection techniques in 500.7 now makes reference to a new Table in Chapter 9.

In the 2023 NEC®, the protection techniques specified for electrical and electronic equipment installed in hazardous (classified) locations now refers the code reader to new Table 13 in Chapter 9 which identifies the applicability of the various protection techniques in a single location.

New Table 13 in Chapter 9 replaces existing tables in Articles 505 and 506 with one comprehensive table addressing all the different types of suitable protection techniques for hazardous (classified) locations.
